Omar Sebai
Associate
Omar is an Investment Associate at Valia Ventures. He sources and evaluates investment opportunities and supports the firm’s portfolio companies. Omar invests across sectors but focuses on vertical software, AI-powered applications, and fintech. He also serves as a Mentor for startups participating in Techstar’s New York Program. Prior to joining Valia, Omar worked in a variety of different operational roles at startups and spent time as a consultant at PwC.
Omar graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University with a B.S. in Business Administration. During his time there, he was a teaching assistant for Quantitative Management and researched for a report on the role foreign exchange rates play in investment decisions.Outside of working with startups, Omar loves traveling to new places, watching the Lakers and Manchester United, and doing fitness classes on Aarmy. Omar grew up in Los Angeles, CA and is originally from Aleppo, Syria.
